The Power of Cooperation: A Family Event

7 US dollars
Water Street

Service Description

Miss Sugarman's School for Extraordinary Children is where the whole family can create and find community! We meet the first Saturday of every month. Bringing children and their families together to form a community of like-minded peers while experiencing fun academic and arts enrichment is what we do! Our Power of Cooperation family event allows families to gather while engaging in creative problem-solving activities. The activities we will engage in are cooperative and will involve a challenge for the whole family to solve/accomplish together. Activities are inspired by Odyssey of the Mind's spontaneous problems and STEAM challenges. 21st-century education focuses on a creative, collaborative approach to learning. Examples of 21st-century skills are: Critical thinking—Critical thinking is essential for success in both business and science. It enables you to think outside the box and form your own ideas. Creativity - Creativity is critical to innovation. People who think creatively can see things from different angles. This skill can help you find more accessible solutions to more complicated tasks. Collaboration - Collaboration might be the most challenging skill among the 4 C’s. However, once you learn to work with others, you learn to compromise and achieve the best results from teamwork. Communication—Effective communication is essential for building lifelong connections with other people. Employers highly value good communicators who can approach people with different personality types. The participation fee is $7.00 per person, making it accessible to large families. 20 participants Max.
